Main Duties and Work Responsibilities
Helpers generally support skilled workers and supervisors with basic site activities, material handling, cleaning, preparation, and other assigned tasks while following safety instructions. Fire Watchers are responsible for monitoring areas where hot work is being performed, watching for sparks or fire hazards, and immediately reporting unsafe conditions. Rigger III personnel assist with lifting and rigging activities, including securing loads and supporting safe movement of materials and equipment. Flagmen guide vehicles, equipment, and site traffic while communicating clearly with operators to maintain safe movement around work areas. Foremen supervise workers, coordinate daily activities, monitor progress, and ensure that assigned work is completed according to project instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Candidates should have practical experience relevant to the position for which they are applying. Helpers should be physically capable of supporting general site operations, while Fire Watchers should understand hot-work hazards and basic fire-prevention procedures. Rigger III candidates should have knowledge of rigging practices, load handling, lifting equipment, and workplace safety. Flagmen should have good awareness of traffic movement and be able to communicate effectively with drivers and equipment operators. Foremen should have relevant trade knowledge, leadership ability, and experience coordinating workers and site activities.
