Core Duties & Workplace Responsibilities
The responsibilities will depend on the selected trade and the needs of the assigned workshop or project. Heavy Trucks Mechanics will handle inspection, troubleshooting, servicing, and repair of heavy vehicles and their mechanical systems. Auto Electricians will diagnose and repair electrical components, wiring, batteries, starting systems, lighting, and other vehicle electrical equipment, with duties varying between heavy equipment and heavy trucks. Under Chassis & Suspension Truck Mechanics will work on chassis, suspension, steering-related components, and other underbody systems. Heavy Equipment Mechanics will maintain and repair machinery and equipment used for demanding industrial operations. Welders will perform 3G-4G welding according to required procedures and quality standards. Tyremans will inspect, remove, install, repair, and maintain heavy-vehicle tyres. All workers must follow workshop safety rules, use appropriate PPE, maintain tools properly, and report unsafe or defective conditions to supervisors.
Technical Skills & Professional Knowledge
Applicants should have practical experience in their respective trade and understand the tools, equipment, and safe working methods required for the position. Heavy vehicle and equipment mechanics should be capable of diagnosing mechanical problems and carrying out appropriate repairs on engines, braking systems, suspension, transmission, hydraulic components, and related systems. Auto Electricians should understand vehicle wiring, electrical circuits, batteries, sensors, and troubleshooting procedures. Chassis and suspension specialists should have knowledge of heavy-truck undercarriage systems and component replacement.
