Main Duties
The primary duty of a rigger is to assist in lifting and shifting loads in a safe and controlled manner. This includes preparing lifting gear, checking slings and shackles, guiding crane operators, and ensuring that loads are properly balanced before movement. A rigger must also follow site lifting plans, use hand signals clearly, and work closely with supervisors, crane crews, and safety teams. On industrial projects, riggers may be required to handle different lifting tasks quickly while maintaining full attention to safety. The ability to understand site instructions and support team coordination is essential in this role.
Skills & Qualifications
