Main Duties and Welding Responsibilities
Selected 6G Welders will perform welding activities on pipeline work according to approved welding procedures and project requirements. Their responsibilities may include preparing and aligning pipes, checking joints before welding, performing root and subsequent welding passes, and ensuring the finished weld meets required quality standards. Welders should properly operate welding equipment, select appropriate electrodes, maintain suitable welding techniques, and inspect their work for visible defects. They must follow safety procedures when handling welding equipment, electrodes, and other materials. Close coordination with fitters, supervisors, inspectors, and other site personnel may be required to ensure welding activities are completed correctly and efficiently.
