Position Overview
A Fire Watch is responsible for monitoring hot work activities such as welding, cutting, and grinding to prevent fire hazards and ensure workplace safety. Fire Watch personnel play a critical role in protecting workers, equipment, and project facilities by maintaining continuous surveillance during hot work operations and responding quickly to potential fire risks. Their responsibilities help ensure compliance with industrial safety regulations and project-specific safety procedures.
Main Responsibilities
Selected candidates will monitor all hot work activities, inspect work areas before operations begin, and verify that appropriate fire prevention measures are in place. They will ensure fire extinguishers and emergency equipment are readily available, remain on standby throughout hot work operations, identify potential fire hazards, and respond immediately to emergency situations if required. Fire Watch personnel will also report unsafe conditions to supervisors, maintain safety records, and ensure strict compliance with company safety policies and industrial regulations.
Required Skills and Professional Qualifications
Applicants should have previous experience working as a Fire Watch on industrial or construction projects. A valid TUV Certification is mandatory for this position. Candidates should have a strong understanding of fire prevention procedures, emergency response, and workplace safety practices.
